Situated as part of the stunning Flegrean Islands archipelago, just off the Coast of Naples, Procida offers an enchanting escape that’s not to be missed.

However, a turning point came in 1734 when the Borbone family arrived in Naples. With their reign, Procida’s social and economic situation began to improve. The island experienced a period of stability and growth, at least until the tumultuous Napoleonic wars.

To ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience, it’s recommended that you decide in advance which option you would like to take. Please note that during the summer season, the ferry experiences high demand. Although it boasts a sizable capacity, it fills up quickly. To secure your spot, it is highly recommended to book your tickets online in advance. Alternatively, you can choose to arrive early at the dock, where an office is available for purchasing tickets on-site.

Sail to Procida with Ease: Hydrofoil Options from Molo Beverello

Another excellent option for your day trip to Procida from Naples is taking a hydrofoil, and you have two reputable companies to choose from: Caremar and SNAV. Unlike the ferry, the hydrofoil departs from the dock of “Molo Beverello.” To access this departure point, make your way to the nearest metro station, “Municipio.” A brief 7-minute walk will bring you directly to the dock, ensuring a convenient start to your hydrofoil adventure.

The crossing on the hydrofoil is relatively swift, lasting approximately 35 minutes. Ticket prices vary between the two companies, with Caremar charging €15.10 per person (€30.20 for a round trip) and SNAV pricing their tickets at €17.50 per person (€35 for a round trip).

Its origins trace back to the seventeenth century, and to this day, it continues to grace the island’s landscape with its timeless allure.

Corricella is renowned not only for its vibrant array of colorful houses but also for its significant role in Italian cinema. It served as one of the key settings for the beloved 90s film, “Il Postino” (The Postman). In fact, La Locanda del Postino, a restaurant located in Corricella, was featured in the movie and remains a popular dining spot, offering visitors a chance to experience a taste of cinematic history.

Additionally, the spacious courtyard offers breathtaking views of Corricella, providing an unparalleled vantage point to take in the beauty of the entire island.

Surprisingly, Procida hasn’t been inundated by hordes of tourists, allowing you to find peaceful corners even at the busiest times. Two of the top beaches worth exploring are the beach of Chiaiolella and the Beach of Postino( formally Spiaggia del Pozzo Vecchio).
