Located in the middle of the bustling Frankfurt, at just a few minutes from the central station, the 25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip is a dream come true for any travel addicted out there. The appealing motto displayed in the main facade promising a tour of the world in just one day is definitely appropriated. In fact, this is a place featuring a multicultural atmosphere within its walls. IWho can resist to the promise of a world tour in such a brief time? Come with me and discover our incredible stay at this lovely hotel!

25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip

The original concept of a world culturally-inspired hotel comes from the genius of the Frankfurt-based artist Michael Dreher and the team at Morgen Interiors. From the ground floor to the terrace, each corner of the 25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip is reminiscing of polar expeditions, adventures around the world and curiosity towards different cultures. Cool eh??

The hotel features five different types of rooms, including a spacious suite called “Machu Picchu” featuring a kitchenette and a samova tea station. “The Trip” is a more than appropriate name for this hotel because you start the voyage directly from your room for then travelling through a series of colourful and travel-themed corridors narrating of past and mysterious adventures around the world.

The hotel is divided into two main buildings that communicates throughout a common courtyard used also a lounge during the summer season (or when it’s not raining). Our room was in the same building of the reception and I was very curious about what side of the world we were going to explore!

25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip. Our Experience

The Room

Our room was spacious and comfortable. Provided with with a double king bed, a little desk useful for journals or daily correspondence, a small wardrobe and a mini bar. Shower-room and toilet are kept into two separate spaces and both are modern designed and fully equipped for a perfect stay (I particularly loved the waterfall shower, which is ideal after a day exploring around!) The main window was overlooking the internal courtyard and in the morning provided a natural light to the whole room.

The bed was particularly comfortable and gave me the rest I needed after a long day travelling. I also appreciated the way in which the hotel invited guests to be environmentally-responsible by suggesting “to save water” in their personalised toiletries. Our room was a medium room and it was perfect for two people. Larger rooms are spacious and ideal to accommodate families.

Breakfast Hall and Restaurant

Breakfast starts at 6.30 (ish) every morning. Both English and continental breakfast is served on a buffet style. I was very satisfied with the range of choices provided by the hotel. I did personally choose the continental breakfast because I don’t eat meat or eggs in the morning. However, all the food displayed had a marvellous aspect and smell!

During the night, the breakfast area turns into Bar Shuka, a place of which motto is “Israel meets Palestine” and where you can find the best traditional dishes of the Middle Eastern cuisine. Unfortunately, we did not have the chance to try it because the place is luckily so popular that was fully booked for all the days we stayed at the hotel! The hotel has also two other restaurant choices Shuka Bar (which is NOT Bar Shuka but I liked the word pun), serving Japanese dishes and Café Bomba serving snacks and Italian pastries in the lobby of the hotel.

The Lobby

The lobby of the hotel was actually one of my favourite places! I think that Morgern Interiors made an excellent work in making this place a dream for every wanderluster crossing the hotel doors! The main sofa area, featuring a big plane on the wall is the ideal place where to plan the day itinerary in Frankfurt or your next adventure on the road.

Additional Recreational Areas

If you are staying at 25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip, get a moment to explore various floors inside the building. Indeed, we discovered many hidden areas with cool features that we really didn’t expect! These include a Finnish sauna and callisthenic parkour on the rooftop, a cinema on the lower ground floor (yes, you have read well!), working studios, a small library and a nice display of geographical maps for the most adventurous explorers! Furthermore, the hotel strongly encourage the use of bicycles to explore Frankfurt.

For this reason, a lot of them are chained in various floors! You have just to ask for them at the reception and you will provided also with a map of the city! Next to the reception there is also a lovely travel-themed shop where you can buy some nice souvenirs and objects for your trips.

Our experience and feedback

We had a nice experience at the 25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip! This place has a lot of positive elements: it’s close to the station and it takes about 20 mins walking to reach the Römer. Breakfast is very good with lot of choices and you can actually choose between three different places where to dine without going crazy to find a place in the city. Lastly, its travel themed. This makes every room, and the hotel itself, a very unique place! The promise of a world tour in a day makes definitely things exciting.

There were only some minor issues that I think can be easily improved. The first is parking. There are 76 rooms and less than 10 parking spaces. This means that if you arrive after 7 pm (like we did) it’s unlikely you will find a space where to park and you’ll have to go around to find a parking (that you’ll have to pay). There is a parking not much far from the hotel (just 10 minutes walking) and providing the guests with some parking vouchers would definitively reduce the hassle.

Second issue we had, was that the remote control of our TV was missing from our room. We noted this immediately after the check-in and reported the fact to the reception asking for a replacement. Unfortunately, this was never replaced during our stay meaning that our TV was just part of the wall and we couldn’t watch anything while relaxing in the room. Thank goodness that I like to read! Beside from these minor issues, our stay was very nice and I totally recommend this place not only to travel lovers, but also to all the people who want to explore Frankfurt and stay in a cool place for a couple of days.

Practical Information

Location

You can find 25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip in Niddastraße 58. This is at just five minutes from the Frankfurt central station in the lively district of Bahnhofsviertel. This district used to have a very bad reputation until its redevelopment in the 20th century. Indeed, the it was the base of the city’s red-lights neighbourhood. This is still existent but a great part of Bahnhofsviertel now hosts modern skyscrapers and commercial hubs.

I would still recommend exercising a little caution when getting around at night and if alone/girls trip only. Indeed, we noticed a certain number of night clubs of suspicious nature and not-very-friendly men-only groups (gangs??) patrolling the streets surrounding those clubs. This together with a number of drunk men wandering around. To note we never felt threatened in any way (we tried to avoid those streets and walked at distance). However, it’s always better to know the general area at night is not all roses and biscuits. The immediate area of the hotel is perfectly fine.

Getting to 25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip

By Public Transport

Getting to 25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip from the Main Frankfurt airport by public transfer is very easy. Indeed, you can take the ICE315 or the ICE721 and stop at
Frankfurt Central Train Station. From there, is just 4 mins walk.

If you are landing to the more distant Hahn Airport, is recommended taking a combination of bus+train. Take the coach Flibco 6264 to Mainz Central Train Station. From here, take the train to Frankfurt Central Train Station and then walk 4 mins.

By Car

If you are coming by car, this is a very short drive from the main airport. Only 18 mins via the B43 sliproad.

If you are driving from Hahn Airport this is a 1h 29 mins drive via the A60/61

Parking near 25H Hotel Frankfurt The Trip

As I said before, parking at the 25h Hotel The Trip is an issue because of the limited parking space. We got lucky to find a space on the first night but on the other two we had to find a different solution. A good and safe parking you can find nearby is Parkhaus Westend – Frankfurt. The rate for parking between 7 pm and 7 am is only €4. After 7 am is €2,50 per hour.

Hotel Info and Services

The hotel counts 76 rooms equipped with minibar, safe storage, parking, function room, restaurant, bike rental granted on a first come, first served basis.

Breakfast is served at the Bar Shuka and cost €20 per person, if booked with the room otherwise costs €26 on location)
The hotel is pro dogs! You can bring your own dog and by paying an additional €25 you will provided with a cushion, water and food bowl and a bag of dog treats!
Late check-out is free! You can check-out up to 2 p.m. for free upon request.
If your mobile data doesn’t work in Germany the hotel provides you with a free Wi-Fi mobile hotspot to allow you going around!
A working studio can be booked via the website and includes the use of kitchen and microwave, Coffee, tea, and water, printer, scanner, and copier.
Parking space has a price of €17 per day but can’t be booked in advance due to the limited space
Bike rental is €10 per day.
